The legacy of the Daytona 500. What it means to win a race of this caliber. You start at a young age of hearing about the Nascar race at the Daytona International Speedway. Then, if you are lucky enough to become a Nascar driver, you imagine what it would be like to just have the opportunity to drive in the race. Then finally dream about actually winning the Daytona 500. There is no greater feeling or sense of accomplishment, then driving your race car into the winner’s circle at Daytona.
Expect over 150,000 race fans to be in attendance for the Daytona 500. It marks the start of a new racing season and for 43 drivers to have a chance to win one of the most prestigious races in the sport of Motor Racing. With speeds of over 190 mph and drivers following each other closer than regular folks park to one another, something bad is bound to happen.
